small ElementThe small element is an inline element declared by the XHTML 1.1 Presentation Module (Inline Presentation)
Elements in the Presentation Module are:big | small | sub | sup | i | b | tt (Inline Presentation Support Module)hr (Block Presentation Support Module)
The small element is used to decrease font size with respect to surrounding text.
For example:
<p>This is <small>smaller text</small> embedded in a normal paragraph.</p>
This code renders as follows:
This is smaller text embedded in a normal paragraph.
The same job is performed by the CSS declaration font-size:smaller and it is
better to use this CSS than the small element in order to separate presentation from content.
